The Sagittarius New Moon invites you to recharge your spiritual FIRE, to reconnect with your inner truth and guidance and restore your faith in a positive future. Expansive, adventurous Sagittarius is the sign of optimism and trust, reminding you of the bigger picture and higher vision, calling you beyond the daily details to see your life as a mythic journey.
The power of this New Moon is amplified by its precise conjunction with Antares – the red star at the heart of the Scorpion constellation, and one of the four “Royal Stars,” considered gateways to higher consciousness. The shadow potentials of Antares include recklessness, violence and destruction, while the higher expression is to connect more deeply to your passion, purpose and intuition.
Further fueling the fire, the New Moon forms a Grand Trine – harmony and flow – with Mars in Leo and the North Node in Aries. Fire is an element that typically indicates movement, momentum and risk-taking – an externalized, action-oriented expression. However! Everything in the chart of this New Moon recommends holding and containing the fire, letting it burn from within, as an agent of healing and purification.
Mars the action planet is stopped, about to turn retrograde on December 6th. Mercury and Jupiter are both retrograde, indicating that you don’t yet have all the information you need to move forward. And Neptune is also stationing (standing still), and will turn from retrograde to direct (forward) on December 7th, stirring up a cloud of confusion, illusion and unconscious energies.
Translation? This is a time for moving slowly, for asking questions and listening deeply rather than making assumptions or asserting what you think you know. Going for the quick fix or instant gratification, or trying to push your agenda on others, will not go well. Instead, pull your energy inward and lean into the bigger-picture and longer-term perspective of your older, wiser self. Patience, patience.
The higher potential of this New Moon is to harness the power of your creative imagination to dream up a more positive future, and to expand and strengthen the love and passion in your heart. There’s a lot shifting beneath the surface and behind the scenes, and more will be revealed at the Gemini Full Moon on December 15th.
