Libra New Moon - Transformational Union of Self and Divinity

The ongoing square between Jupiter and Chiron - in effect for all of October - stirs up wounds from the past and opens opportunities for BIG healing.

While Chiron retrograde in Aries brings awareness to where you have felt powerless, separate, unacceptable, ashamed… Jupiter in Cancer expands your compassion and acceptance to welcome home all the banished and rejected parts of yourself. New understandings of past trauma, along with new stories about who you are and what’s possible moving forward, are part of the healing process.

Over the past few days, the Sun in Libra has moved into a square with Jupiter and opposition with Chiron, forming a tense t-square and amping up both the old-wound-triggering and the healing potential. This t-square is still in effect at Tuesday’s Libra New Moon.

As an air sign, Libra invites you to take a deep breath, step back and view your healing journey from a more neutral and objective perspective. The Libra Sun also brings in the healing power of reflections and support from others. While Chiron in Aries can default into “toughing it out” - covering up vulnerability with bravado - Libra reminds you that you’re not meant to heal in isolation, we need each other.

Libra is the sign of one-on-one relationships, romantic and otherwise, and the Libra New Moon can also bring to awareness what’s calling for healing in relationship-land. Is there an equal exchange, a balance of give and take? Are you suppressing your true desires to maintain external harmony? How might your wounded inner child be running the show in present-time relationship dynamics?

Like recent New Moons, this one also interacts with all the slower-moving planets - forming a yod (finger of God/fate) with Uranus and the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, and squaring Pluto.

Translation? This New Moon is ultimately about your relationship with the divine, with your bigger self. Whatever issues or challenges you might be confronting in your human relationships are pointing to your relationship with the Great Mystery.

Through the healing initiation of Jupiter-Chiron, through a willingness to dive into your shadows, working with others’ reflections as mirrors for hidden aspects of self, this New Moon wants to expand you beyond limited stories and beliefs, to open you to communion with your divine self, the universal mother-love that’s big enough to hold it all.
