A Deeper Wisdom About What Can Work For Us As A Species

Sally K. Norton on Toxic Superfoods, challenging the nutritional status quo, and rethinking everything

Sally K. Norton, MPH holds a nutrition degree from Cornell University and a master’s degree in Public Health. Her path to becoming a leading expert on dietary oxalate includes a prior career working at major medical schools in medical education and public health research. Her personal healing experience inspired years of research that led to her book, Toxic Superfoods, released in January 2023.

This book blew my mind and gave me a whole new perspective on my own dietary journey. Although I’ve been a student of natural health and nutrition for 30+ years, I had never heard of oxalates – poisons produced by many common plants we eat – until I was introduced to Sally’s work.

Buckle up and open your mind – what if everything you thought you knew about nutrition were completely upside down?

We cover:

  • Sally’s “virtuous, perfect diet” that was “destroying her life” – and how she healed from chronic pain and fatigue;

  • Signs you may be suffering from oxalate overload, and what to do about it;

  • The foods highest in oxalates and some easy, low-oxalate replacements;

  • Oxalate detox symptoms – and why getting worse can sometimes mean you're getting better;

  • The importance of listening to and trusting your body;

  • How your spinach smoothie is trying to kill you;

  • And much more!
